I was looking for some reading glasses and after about 45 minutes of walking around, I found a place selling them for $5.99 or 4 for $20. Didn't see any that I liked so went to WalMart where I got 3 pair for $5.88!
That night the weather got a little scary. The TV forecasters were in over drive going on about the storm, the wind, the lightning all heading our way.
We are in Elkhart county which never did make it on the severe storm warning map. We did get rain, but that was about it. The weather spotters and forecasters were really disappointed. Ha!
The next day was beautiful.
It was such a nice day that Cary decided to work on the black water valve which has been giving him a problem opening. After he emptied half of the 'basement', and started to take the valve off to replace it, he found the reason it was so hard to open was the nuts were so tight all the way around and that was compressing the valve. So he loosened them a bit and that should do it.
We had a free lunch day and headed over to a 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives' restaurant The South Side Soda Shop/Diner. Great place. We went there last time we were up this way and it was delicious, so here we are again.
I had the Caribbean Cobb Salad with poppyseed dressing. It was great! Topped it off with a root beer float. Yum.
After lunch I walked around the fairgrounds since I hadn't really had much time to check it out.
That's when I realized we were parked near the 'Goat' building.
Seriously? What are they trying to say here? But as I toured the other camping spots, I thought maybe our spot wasn't so bad:
I think I'd rather be an old goat than a pig!
There were rows and rows of DRV's. Lots of campers from lots of states.

| They're everywhere! |
There was a farmstead from the 1800's, we are more than likely camping on land that used to be farmed.
Also came across a snowmobile trail, closed ....I wonder if the fact that it's called Miami has anything to do with that.
:-)
We went to dinner last night and sat with some people we had met from Michigan. It was pizza and salad night. When the club president determined the order of the tables, we ended up going second last! It took a long time, but we had some free beer to tide us over.
That is the pizza line. You might note the 'old goats' are not in line yet. I guess that means the line is made up of.....those other people!Today is Friday, our last day here. We headed back to the DRV factory for a tour and a free lunch. Pretty interesting even though we had been on one before.

| Who is this little guy and why is he hanging from the rafters? |
Cary is checking out the 'Suite' in progress.
On the way back to the campground, we made a few stops.
Shipshewana is an Amish town for those of you who don't know. It's very picturesque and seems to be over run by Yoder's.

Yoder's Insurance, bakery, and who knows what else?
This is probably Yoder's rig!
So as the rally winds down,(we're waiting for dinner) we certainly felt welcomed,
but we're ready to continue our Midwestern Adventure....on to Michigan!
