That's what its called

| The National Cherry Festival |
Exactly why its "National", I'm not sure, as everything there seemed to come from Michigan. There wasn't much to the festival. There were a lot of food booths from local restaurants. Lots of cherries and cherry products. I bought a cherry festival shirt and a stained glass cherry ornament...which I plan to copy and make ornaments for my Michigan friends. There was a kids lego section and the midway, which we avoided.
We toured the park and saw some interesting things:
| Old Fire Truck |
| No spokes, no pedals?? No wonder they're not getting anywhere! |
| love these bike racks! |
| Rocky shore. |
I saw these bike racks somewhere without bikes and I wondered what they were. Cool design.
The rocks had to be put there as there was a line where they ended and sand began....spooky....
| Fake Race Car |
| Boats in the bay. |
There wasn't much going on at the Cherry, whoops the National Cherry Festival. Since we had put 3 hrs into the parking meter, we decided to cruise the downtown and look for a good restaurant. That's when we came upon.....
| The Amical |
This was another one of the restaurants that I read about, so we looked at the menu posted outside. Looked interesting to me, Cary was not too enthused. We ended up giving it a try. I ordered the cheese (ricotta) with sage stuffed ravioli on spinach with a tomato basil marmalade.
| Half gone ravioli dish. |
Cary ordered the special, which was linguine with a pesto cream sauce with zucchini, mushrooms and tomatoes. By the time I took the picture, his was almost gone. Needless to say they were both delicious. Yum. And the rolls were also great too.
As we were meandering back to the truck, I had to stop and take a few pictures of the clock.
Yesterday we strolled over to an ice cream social, sponsored by an RV dealer from Fort Myers, FL. Not bad for free. Didn't take my camera though so no pictures of sundaes ;-)
I made dinner last night, pork and avocado enchiladas. Turned out pretty darn good. Will probably make this for our camping group.
Guess what we'll be having for dinner tonight?

| So that was our exciting day at the National Cherry Festival. |
